“Transformation” A visual debate in public space, GZ Wipkingen, Zürich, 2012
Other ways of communication were proposed by doing kind interventions in the playground‘s sandbox.
This action was conceived for the Practice Based Knowledge course „Drawing and Painting Strategies“ during my studies in the MFA program at ZHdK. The task was to create visual debate.
This action was done during my MFA studies at the ZHdK for the course “Drawing and painting strategies”
Task was to create a visual debate.
Our idea was to carry out the debate through actions. To be experimental and process driven.
For the venue we chose a sandbox in a playground. An open public space to not have whole control of the action, allowing chance to the unforeseen. We also worked with the materials provided form the place.
Actions and agents – First agents of change, action: us, coming with a proposal, modifying the usual state of the sandbox by appropriating the space playing there and creating new elements. – Second agents of change, reaction: the recipients, in this case the children. what kind of interaction will happen? how will they react to us, to the elements?
